Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Thermal (IRE), placed second, shifted sharply left-handed away from the whip, carrying Beau Geste (IRE), placed fourth, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Thermal (IRE).
Following the race, Miss Brodie Hampson reported that Luna Magic (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, had no more to give and Miss Sarah Bowen reported that Beau Geste (IRE), placed fourth, hung right-handed in the home straight.
