FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - ZOFFANIEN missed an intended engagement on Oaks Day at the Curragh recently in the Ladies Derby, as he was reported to be coughing. We haven’t seen the Galway Hurdle entrant since a Grade One fourth placing at the Punchestown festival in early May. His rating over flights now stands at 142. The 83-mark that Zoffanien has on the level, equates to a nice racing weight of eleven stone, and Barry O’Neill takes the reins for the first time. Likely to be dropped in from his stall eighteen draw, the Zoffany youngster is sure to be well primed by the Denis Hogan team, for Galway owner Liam Mulryan. Willie Mullins has six in the mix, and Patrick rides Hook Up. The record-breaking amateur rider has flagged up the fact that he may put up 2Ibs over-weight, and there’s a similar occurrence with another Closutton runner, Foveros (Aubrey McMahon). Run For Mary (2nd in 2020) and De Name Escapes Me (6th in 2020) are back with chances again. In truth though, as ever in this event, lots of them need considering.
