FormscanBy Michael Graham - The sole three-year-old in the field, CALIDUS MIRABILIS, goes well on all-weather surfaces and could eke out another success. He won a mile handicap at this track in January for 7lb-claimer Alan Persse, before following up under Ben Curtis at Chelmsford City over 10 furlongs. Persse is back aboard and claims 7lb again, and his mount should be ready for this task after a spin in fifth around Roscommon last month. Course and distance winner New Vocation had a busy June, but has had a couple of weeks off, and would be dangerous if allowed to dictate off the front from a low draw. All of Lady De Vesci's four victories have come here, so she has to go on the shortlist reverting from turf. The handicapper has made life tough for course and distance winner Magi Gal, but she is more than capable of putting up a good show. Cache Queen enjoys racing on the Polytrack, however, she was due to run at the Curragh on Friday evening (where she finished a close fourth), and was also in action a week ago when runner-up in Fairyhouse, so may be best watched if turned out again quickly.
