FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - LARALEI could be worth chancing on her handicap and polytrack debut. Owner Declan Landy has a lovely National Hunt horse on his hands in Captain Guinness, and though Laralei is operating at a much more modest level, there could be a win on two in the Hot Streak filly. It won’t be easy for her against mostly older and more experienced rivals. However she’s shown a bit, notably at Fairyhouse in the middle of last month, and you’d have to think from a mark of 64 with a ten pound claimer up, that she’ll be there or thereabouts. He’s very likely no ordinary ten pound claimer either, Sam Ewing being a well-touted graduate of the pony racing sphere and the son of point-to-point handler Warren. Ewing senior has a close association with Barry Geraghty so young Sam certainly has top tutors in his corner. He did well on his opening foray on the racecourse proper at Roscommon last Tuesday and his breakthrough winner might not be long about coming. One of two representatives on the card for Ger Lyons, Laralei is given the nod ahead of Dark Magic. Each-way cases can be built for several others.
