The Johnny Levins-trained Kindly landed a touch under Colin Keane in the Little Hours Gig July 13th Handicap at Cork.

The Kyllachy mare scored twice for Simon Crisford in 2016 but missed all last season and, after four outings for current connections, was well-backed on track from 14/1 into 8/1.

She led over a furlong out in this extended six furlongs event, and held the late surge of Count Of Carabass by half a length.

The 7/4 favourite Captain Power was the same distance further back in third.

Levins said, “That’s why Colin is champion jockey, and it’s a privilege to get his services when I can. He rode her like a bit of work and followed his lead horse. He kicked and slipped the field a bit, and then just idled a bit.

“The last day in Navan Donagh (O’Connor) said the five was quick enough and she lost her balance a bit but he looked after her. This race fell lovely as it was a flat track over six furlongs.

“We were quietly confident coming down. We’ll get her home now and she will tell me when she’s ready to go again.”
