Play The Game appears unlikely to take up his entry in the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham next month.

Tom Gibney's charge has a three-figure rating on the Flat and opened his account over jumps at the fifth attempt at Fairyhouse in January.

He is a 100-1 shot for the Festival curtain-raiser at Prestbury Park, but looks set to remain on home soil.

Gibney said: "It's unlikely he'll be going to Cheltenham. He definitely won't be going for the Grade One (Supreme) there anyway.

"His owner is not too pushed about making the trip whereas I'd be keen enough on travelling.

"I'm not quite sure where he'll go next.

"I know it's open to question the merit of that maiden hurdle he won, but the form of his Navan fourth placing is very solid.

"In fairness they pulled well clear of the third at Fairyhouse and there was plenty of money for the fourth horse (Khudha)."
