Connections of Rule The World are set to discuss future plans for the Crabbie's Grand National hero after the dust has settled following his run at Punchestown on Tuesday.

The nine-year-old put up a decent effort to finish sixth to Zabana in the Grade One Growise Champion Novice Chase, just 17 days after his epic triumph in the world's greatest steeplechase.

His trainer Mouse Morris reports the gelding, owned by Gigginstown House Stud, to have taken his latest exertions very well and will shortly go for a well-deserved break.

In the meantime, Gigginstown's Michael O'Leary and racing manager, his brother Eddie, will decide on Rule The World's future.

"There's absolutely not a bother on him," said Morris.

"We're going to discuss it later on this week. We won't be doing anything in a rush or be bullish. We'll sit down and decide what we do with him in the future.

"He'll stay with me for a bit, then he'll go for a well-earned rest."
