Gavin Cromwell is hoping the generous age and sex allowance will prove the difference for Jer's Girl in the Tattersalls Ireland Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown on Friday.

The four-year-old filly is already a Grade One winner thanks to her success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship at Fairyhouse.

Cromwell said: "She's in great form, I'm very happy with her. She gets the age and sex allowance off the older geldings which is a great pull. She's in great nick. The better ground is a little bit of an unknown, but we think she will cope with it."

Noel Meade is looking forward to getting Disko back to the track for the first time since his 29-length romp in a maiden hurdle at Naas in November.

Meade admits it has been a race against time getting back for the last of the big spring festivals and is hoping the five-year-old is fit enough to do himself justice.

"He's an exciting horse. We just got held up and it's been a bit of a rush getting him there," said the County Meath handler.

"I just hope he's fit enough, that's the biggest problem."

Baily Cloud has also had his troubles but with those now behind him, his trainer Mouse Morris is expecting a decent display.

"He's had a few problems and wasn't running up to scratch," said Morris.

"He'll appreciate the good ground. he's run some good races in Grade Ones before and he should run a nice race."

Willie Mullins is double-handed with Thomas Hobson and A Toi Phil, while Nicky Henderson's O O Seven represents English interests in the nine-strong line-up.
