Violet Dancer led all the way to floor hotpot and big Arkle hope L'Ami Serge in the three-runner 7bets4free.com Kingmaker Novices' Chase at Warwick.

Winner of the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury on the corresponding day 12 months ago, Violet Dancer (8-1) thrived from a positive ride by Jamie Moore to upset the 1-5 favourite in the Grade Two over two miles.

Taking his record over fences to four victories from five starts, the Gary Moore-trained six-year-old was an emphatic 11-length winner from L'Ami Serge, who wore the wrong number cloth.

Jamie Moore said: "He's a very tough and hardy horse.

"He's won impressively - he's a very hard horse and enjoys a strong, end-to-end gallop."
