The Association of Irish Racecourses (AIR) has announced that they are expanding their owners free scheme to over 100 race meetings in 2016.

All owners with a horse in training will be granted free access regardless of whether or not they have a runner on the day.

The scheme which launched in 2014 with 67 fixtures will now encompass one third of the Irish racing calendar with 107 meetings.

Prior to this scheme owners were only entitled to four free entries on days when they had a runner.

Paddy Walsh, Chief Executive of AIR said: "This is a significant concession by racecourses to owners and is indicative of the recognition by racecourses of the importance of the role played by owners within our industry."

The full list of race meetings covered by the free entry scheme can be found on both the AIR and Owners Association websites.
