Gunnery Sergeant is likely to take up his entry in the Bar One Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Noel Meade's youngster looked set to score at Gowran on his hurdling debut last weekend but he tipped up at the second-last when seemingly in control.

He won a point-to-point for Gordon Elliott before landing a bumper for Meade in the Gigginstown House Stud colours.

Gigginstown also have Eoin Grffin's Archive, Willie Mullins' Gangster and Elliott's Roman Gold entered.

"Michael (O'Leary, owner) is keen enough to run Gunnery Sergeant, and I'd say he will," said Meade.

"I'm not saying he'll win, but he'll run well and they like to support Grade One races."
