Below is the rip.ie death notice for A.I.R. employee Michael McDermott, who has passed away recently.
McDermott was a familiar face on the entrance to many racemeetings, and handled the swipe cards for racegoers with A.I.R. cards.
"Michael McDermott, (Graiguecullen, Carlow and formerly of Cappawhite, Co Tipperary). Passed away peacefully on November 24th, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at The District Hospital, Carlow. Beloved husband of Tina and much loved father of Brian. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, brothers Pat, Martin and Johnny, Brian's partner Sarah, sisters-in-law Frances, Mary Ann, Bridget and Edwina, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Graiguecullen, Carlow from 2pm on Thursday with removal at 6pm to St Clare's Church, Graiguecullen arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am followed by burial in Cappawhite Cemetery, Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary.
