Shaneshill is the latest in a long list of potentially top-class recruits to make his chasing debut for Willie Mullins at Thurles on Thursday.

The Andrea and Graham Wylie-owned Shaneshill was a very smart bumper performer and was right up with the very best over hurdles.

He beat all bar stablemate Douvan in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle in March, meaning he has finished second at the big meeting for the last two years.

Mullins then ran him in a Grade Two at Fairyhouse where he ran out an easy winner before he was third to another stablemate, Killutagh Vic, over three miles.

He starts off over fences over two miles and two furlongs but speaking in a stable tour on his website at the start of the season, Mullins said he feels he will be better over further.

"I think he should stay three miles but we'll probably start him off over shorter and see how he progresses from there," he said.
