Shaneshill is the latest off the seemingly endless factory line of exciting Willie Mullins prospects to make his fencing debut.

A top-class bumper performer a couple of seasons ago, the six-year-old wasn't far off the very best when switched to timber, chasing home brilliant stable companion Douvan in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, as well as winning a Fairyhouse Grade Two and making the frame at the Punchestown Festival.

He returns to action in the Killinan Beginners Chase, which kicks off Thurles' Thursday fixture at 12.20, and a clear round should see him home, for all that a maximum field has been declared.

It could be a very informative day for Mullins, with Petit Mouchoir making his debut for the champion trainer in the Cahir Maiden Hurdle.

Mullins bought the winning point-to-pointer for 100,000 euros but it was Gordon Elliott who saddled him to land the always-competitive Goffs Land Rover Bumper back in the spring, and big things are expected of him.

His stablemate Haymount was very impressive when landing a Tipperary bumper earlier in the year, but Ruby Walsh prefers Royal Caviar in the Holycross Maiden Hurdle, and he has a hood on in an attempt to harness his considerable talent.

Mullins and Walsh team up with Daneking in the Rock Of Cashel Hurdle and although he sets the standard on official ratings, he is becoming a bit expensive to follow and it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if the likes of Jennies Jewel, Mount Colah and The Crafty Butcher give him something to think about.

Denis Hogan trained and steered Long House Island to justify market support at this venue last week, and gets him out again under a penalty in the Templemore Handicap Hurdle.

Rightville Boy let down favourite-backers at Fairyhouse a day earlier and bids for compensation in the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Chase.
