Setback for Moon Racer

Last season's Champion Bumper winner Moon Racer has suffered a setback which will keep him out of action until the spring.

Trained by David Pipe, the six-year-old defied a lengthy absence at the Cheltenham Festival in March as he was having his first outing since making his debut for the yard in October.

Despite meeting several traffic problems, Tom Scudamore picked a path to victory, beating the likes of Modus and Yanworth who already look like taking high-rank among the novice hurdlers this season.

Writing in his blog on www.davidpipe.com the trainer said: "Unfortunately we have had to put plans on hold for Champion Bumper winner Moon Racer after he met with a setback.

"He is currently on the easy list although we are hoping to get him back later in the season for some of the big spring festivals."
