The Guinness Galway Hurdle Handicap takes centre stage on the fourth day of the Galway Festival.

The first four home in last year's renewal return for another crack at the valuable contest, including defending champion Thomas Edison, but Tony Martin's charge races off an 11lb higher mark this time.

The best treated of the Martin-trained trio could be Quick Jack, who was third to Wicklow Brave at Cheltenham but reopposes on much better terms here.

Wicklow Brave shoulders top weight along with fellow Willie Mullins representatives Thousand Stars and Diakali, with the latter arriving on the back of an impressive success over his stablemate at Tipperary earlier in the month.

Mullins bookends the eight-race card with good chances, courtesy of recent Kilbeggan runner-up As De Ferbet in the opening Guinness Dublin Porter Beginners Chase at 1.50 and Prince D'Aubrelle in the Guinness West Indies Porter Flat Race.

Gangster looked smart when scoring with ease on his debut for Mullins at Roscommon and the French import attempts to build on that in the Guinness Novice Hurdle.

However, the progressive Sandymount Duke arrives on the back of a hat-trick and Jessie Harrington's gelding won't give up his winning streak without a fight.

Harrington's Rock The World looks the one to beat in the Guinness Harp Novice Chase, after narrowly losing out to the progressive The Game Changer when bidding to make it two from two over fences at Roscommon.

The Arthur Guinness E.B.F. Corrib Fillies Stakes is the pick of the three Flat races and Tested attempts to bounce back in the Listed contest.

Representing Dermot Weld, who won this race in 2013, the Selkirk filly flopped when favourite on her first try over six furlongs at the Curragh, but sets a clear standard on her form over this extra furlong and has a Group Three win on her CV.

Rock Critic is a three-time Galway Festival winner, including in the Hop House 13 Handicap in 2011 and Weld's 10-year-old is expected to go well in this year's renewal of the one-mile event.
