The Arthur Guinness EBF Corrib Fillies Stakes is the chief supporting race on the Galway Hurdle card, and 10 go to post in what looks a good renewal of this Listed contest.

The seven-furlong event is one of the newer races at the Festival, and not surprisingly Dermot Weld already has his name on the role of honour having landed it two years ago with Yellow Rosebud.

The Rosewell House maestro is represented this time by Tested, and the daughter of Selkirk holds strong claims, despite having to give weight all round.

She carries a 5lb penalty, having landed the Coolmore Stud Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary last term, and it is probably best to put a line through a disappointing effort at the Curragh last time as Pat Smullen reported she was agitated beforehand.

Queen Nefertiti has not quite lived up to the promise of her exciting debut win at Leopardstown, although she did gain some valuable black type when third to Ainippe in the Group Three Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse earlier this month.

The other main threats are all progressive handicappers, with Colour Blue, Laviniad and the hat-trick-seeking Gussy Goose all well capable of getting involved.
