The iconic thetote.com Galway Plate is one of the highlights of the seven-day Festival at Ballybrit, and punters look set to enjoy some nice weather for a change with the feature set to go to post at 5.30pm.

A maximum of 22 runners line-up with a total prizefund of €220,000 on offer.

Champion trainer Willie Mullins will saddle five runners with the Ruby Walsh-ridden Alelchi Inois heading the quintet and likely to go off favourite.

The going is currently described as good (National Hunt) and yielding, yielding to soft in places, on the flat course.

The weather forecast is mainly dry both for today and tomorrow.
