There may have only been six runners but the Q102 Ladies Day Handicap at Fairyhouse was a hard fought affair, with favourite Trinity Force (first time blinkers) eventually prevailing under Colin Keane for Sean Jones and Ger Lyons.

A little more than a length and a quarter split five of them in this six furlong sprint, and though eventual fourth home My Good Brother didn't enjoy any luck in running, Trinity Force was strong at the finish for a half a length verdict over Captain Cullen

Ger Lyons revealed afterwards: "He'd a wind operation over the winter and it's great to get his confidence back. Six furlongs is as sharp as he wants, and he's more of a seven furlongs horse or even a miler.

"It's nice to get the wheels back on the wagon, and he'll go to the Horses-In-Training Sale at the end of the year."

A. Oliver, trainer of Have A Great Day reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge lost a hind shoe during this race.
