< Sruthan led home a one-two for Paul Deegan in the Tote Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh.

Having his first ever run in a handicap at the age of six, the 12-1 chance came with his challenge at the furlong marker and stormed home under Chris Hayes to triumph by four and a quarter lengths.

His stablemate Aussie Valentine led his rivals a merry dance and kept on well for second, the position he occupied in the race last season, after looking likely to get swallowed up when headed.< Queen Blossom sprung a 16-1 surprise in the Lodge Park Stud EBF Park Express Stakes.

All appeared to be going to plan for strong-travelling favourite Devonshire when she moved from second to the lead with a quarter of a mile to go.

She kicked clear but Patrick Prendergast's Queen Blossom went in pursuit and collared the market leader in the closing stages to claim Group Three honours by a length on just her third appearance.< Awtaad (5-1) cleared right away at the business end of the Plusvital Madrid Handicap to defy top weight in sparkling fashion.

Kevin Prendergast's colt has a couple of Classic entries and connections can't be blamed for now heading down that path after his five-length defeat of Theodorico < Bubbly Bellini (13-2) repeated his victory of 12 months ago in the St Patricks Festival Handicap.

Ado McGuinness' veteran was tackled on all sides in the final furlong but kept going really well to fend off Club Wexford by a neck.

The Tally Ho Stud EBF Maiden is the traditional Flat curtain-raiser and was won impressively by the Darren Bunyan-trained 25-1 shot Mister Trader

Jim Bolger's $450,000 colt Stenographer wore down Paddy Power and Sufoof close home to make a successful start to his career in the Elusive Pimpernel Maiden, while Embiran justified 11-4 favouritism in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden.
