There are nineteen races across two all weather meetings in the UK this afternoon with action at both Newcastle and Kempton Park.

There are three early non-runners at Newcastle:

1.20pm Sandret (stiff)

5.25pm Blue Medici (temperature)

5.25pm Mountain Ruler (swelling)

One non-runner at Kempton:

1.00pm Wirraway (not eaten up)

On a difficult looking day for punters there are five two-year-old races with no form to go on.

Some early market movers of note from an Irish point of view are St. Galen (1.35pm Kempton), Azzuri (5.25 Newcastle) and Cockalorum (6.00 Newcastle). All three horses were previously winners in Ireland.

St. Galen (5/2 - 6/4) was a decent performer on the flat when trained by John Murphy, landing a gamble at the 2018 Galway Festival. Since joining Olly Murphy he has won twice over hurdles (lost a shoe the last day). He has since had a wind operation and will be partnered by champion jockey Oisin Murphy for his return to the flat.

Azzuri (8/1 - 13/2) had two stints in Ireland, first when he won twice when trained by Ger Lyons and later he won a chase when in the care of Richard O'Brien. He is now back with the powerful national hunt stable of Dan Skelton and while he has no winning form on an artificial track he does have a preference for good ground.

Cockalorum (12/1 - 9/1) won a Leopardstown maiden for Michael Halford in October 2018. He is now in the hands of Roger Fell who has his horses in great order for the return of racing, saddling a one-two in the opening race yesterday.
