Peter Fahey has revealed that Peregrine Run could return to action at the Cheltenham Festival if conditions are suitable.

The County Kildare handler is eyeing either the JLT Novices' Chase or the Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase for the eight-year-old, who won three of his five races over fences in the summer.

However, Fahey would skip Cheltenham with Peregrine Run if the going was soft and wait for one of the other big meetings in the spring.

"Peregrine Run is going very well at the moment and he'll have a couple of entries at Cheltenham," said Fahey.

"He's entered in the JLT and he'll be entered in the novice handicap the first day.

"He'll go if the ground is good. If it's not, we'll sit with him and we'll have him for the festivals later on in the spring.

"He won't run again before then because he's easy enough to get ready."

Fahey is looking to run Mine Now at Cheltenham in either the Coral Cup or Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Final after winning a 29-runner qualifier at Leopardstown in December.

"Mine Now got a little break after his win at Leopardstown," he said.

"He's back in now and he'll get a racecourse gallop somewhere about a fortnight before Cheltenham.

"He'll go for either the Coral Cup or the Pertemps."
