Trainer Mark Johnston landed the first two year old race of the season which took place at Kempton Park this afternoon as the British Flat season gets back on track after two and a half months of suspension.

Army Of India took the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes by a short-head from the favourite Science trained by Archie Watson.

The winner, a son of Sepoy, was always close to the pace and had enough in reserve in the closing stages to hold the late challenge of the £170,000 Tattersalls purchase Science at the line.

Army Of India is one of eleven two-year-old names that Johnston submitted to the BHA for priority in the first week of racing to enable them to qualify for Royal Ascot in a fortnight's time.
