Ger Lyons will try to avoid Caravaggio with his classy juvenile Psychedelic Funk.

The Choisir colt finished third to Aidan O'Brien's youngster in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot having won his first two starts at Naas.

Lyons has nominated next month's Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh as a potential target, but he is keen to see where Caravaggio goes first.

"The winner is exceptional," Lyons told At The Races.

"My horse had only been to Naas before that, he got very excited in the preliminaries. We took the cross noseband off him, went to put it back on him and we couldn't so he went very free to post and in the first couple of furlongs.

"He was the first off the bridle on the far side so to stay third, as he did, on ground he wasn't in love with, was a huge run.

"These aren't excuses, it was a huge run. I was delighted with him and he came out of the race well and it's exciting times with him.

"He could go to the Anglesey but we need to bypass that Scat Daddy (Caravaggio) at all costs. If Aidan has the good manners to tell me where he is going with him, I'll try to go where he's not going."
