Jembatt recorded his second win in the space of 24 hours and made it a hat-trick within a fortnight when taking division one of the Jim Fuller Memorial Handicap at Bellewstown.

Trained by Mick Mulvany for his father Larry, the nine-year-old gelding just held on under Gary Carroll at Tipperary yesterday evening but it was much more clear-cut here.

Chris Hayes, who successfully partnered the veteran gelding at Down Royal just under two weeks ago, sent him to the front well over two furlongs out.

The 11/2 chance quickly asserted and stayed on well to beat Rigid Rock by two and a quarter lengths. Takeachanceonme came home best just a head further back in third.

Mulvany said, “Chris said he won much easier than the last time he rode him and always travelled a bit sweeter. I don’t know where he will go next.

“He’s a tough old horse and would nearly drive the lorry for you!”
