The opening Follow Us On Facebook Claiming Race at Sligo went in convincing style to Dragon Girl

Trainer Jessica Harrington and rider Colm O'Donoghue are looking forward to the Prix Jacques le Marois at the weekend with their superstar, Alpha Centauri, but little fish are sweet as they say and Dragon Girl was good in slamming Match My Fire by six and a half lengths.

Also part owned by Mrs Harrington, Dragon Girl took over in the final quarter mile having chased clear leader Double Czech through the extended ten furlong event.

"She had a good run the last day when upped in trip and staying on well. She took a while to come to hand but has always been tough and hardy. She always showed ability but it was just getting it out of her. She's strong minded!" reported O'Donoghue.

Dragon Girl was claimed for 8,000 Euros by John Keogh from Newbridge, to go into training with Shane Duffy. Keogh and Duffy enjoyed success in a claimer at Ballinrobe in June with Eadbhard.

Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed Lucky Red trained by Lee Smyth, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.

The Stewards were informed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer that the vaccinations for Specific Gravity (FR), trained by Adrian McGuinness, contained in the passport were incorrect for the second successive occasion. In accordance with Rule 90 the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Specific Gravity (FR) and fined the trainer €350.
