Herald The Dawn justified favouritism in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden as he ran out a good winner under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger and Godolphin.

Second his debut over the course and distance last month the full-brother to Dawn Approach was sent off the 15/8 favourite today.

Settled in mid-division he came with his challenge down the outer over a furlong from home and swept to the front over 100 yards out, keeping on well to score by two and a quarter lengths. London (2/1) finished second under Joseph O'Brien for his father Aidan while Sunglider (4/1 to 11/4) was a further half a length back in third under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld.

Jim Bolger said afterwards: "He is not as precocious as his brother and it will not be until next year that we see the best of him.

"He could step up in distance, and we will have to have a good think about where we go next."

Paddy Power have introduced the winner at 50/1 for the 2000 Guineas next year.
