Yuften a 1/2 chance, has a special place in the affections of young Dean Curran, and the Kildare teenager rode his second winner aboard Johnny Feane's charge in the opening claimer on the BetVictor-backed card at Dundalk.

Dropped to six furlongs for his latest assignment Yuften was delivered down the outer by Curran to touch off Sharp Defence and Lily’s Prince by three parts of a length and a head.

“Dean gave him a nice ride and didn’t panic. He’s learning to ride, and you couldn’t get a better horse than that to learn on," said Feane.

“This horse is 3 out of 3 now for us and is different sort of gravy to those. We’ll see how the wheels are in the morning and there is another one (claimer) on the 22nd so we won’t aim too high with him.

“We’ve put in a friendly claim so if we get him back grand and if someone else claims him then so be it.”

There were 3 claims for the winner with Feane successful at the claiming price of 15,000, while there were 6 claims for Sharp Defence with David Haddrell successful at 10,000. The five-year-old will now be trained by Richard O’Brien.
