Whitey O'Gwaun provided Finny Maguire with his just his second career winner in the Bet On All UK Racing With Tote (Q.R.) Maiden 12 months ago, and the teenager again successfully teamed up with Dermot Weld at Galway to land this mile and a half event with Time To Inspire

The half-brother to Forgotten Rules was sent off the 5/4 favourite, and provided Weld with his third winner of the week on his 67th birthday.

The son of Galileo travelled well to lead off the home bend, and stretched clear to beat Catalyst by ten lengths, with Hudson's Bay staying on a half-length further back in third.

However the stewards were not impressed with Maguire's use of the whip in the straight and suspended him for two days under Rule 10.3(c) regarding he unnecessary hitting of a horse that clearly has its race won.

Weld said, "He stays well and was the right horse for the race. He should make a lovely four-year-old. He has a good action and the ground is drying. He had two very good runs and should progress as the year goes on. He's a big baby still and will be a lovely horse next year. He could be a very good staying horse."

Maguire said, "It all went to plan. He jumped very smart, and I was able to get a nice posse. I sent him on a bit earlier than ideal but he was good and tough."
