FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - OLD TOWN GARDE won a point-to-point at Wadebridge for Chloe Roddick under Angus Cheleda last December. The Robin Des Champs gelding since joined Gordon Elliott, and he competes in the trainer’s own colours. There was an encouraging enough start from the five-year-old in Ireland, when he finished sixth at Naas at the end of January. Old Town Garde’s jumping could do with tidying up, but that will likely come with experience. He missed an intended engagement at Fairyhouse last month. Hopefully he’ll arrive here in top order, and two and a half miles promises to suit well. Elliott also has The Greek, and he, along with Gipsi Joe, need to be taken into account. Watch the newcomers in the market.
