FormscanBy Michael Graham - CASPIAN PRINCE is a very likeable horse who looks sure to put in a more than decent performance. The nine-year-old clearly enjoys crossing the Irish Sea with form figures at the Curragh of 25142. On his last outing, over course and distance, he was pipped by a short head in the Rockingham. It's hard to forget how he battled red-hot-favourite Marsha in this race last year before getting up on the line to win. With an official rating of 114, he is the horse to beat. Another raider, Mabs Cross, has to be given maximum respect. She stayed on to be third, beaten less than two lengths, in the Group One King's Stand at Royal Ascot which looks excellent form. Aidan O'Brien's Battle Of Jericho won the Rockingham which entitles him to a good crack at this company. He also has Washington DC of whom it would be fair to say this is his favourite track. He has never been outside of the first two in four visits here and he could outrun his odds. The third string to O'Brien's bow is Declarationofpeace who has been dismissed as a 25/1 outsider by the bookmakers. He has plenty of ability though, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see first-time blinkers spark him back into form. The 111-rated Havana Grey wasn't beaten far by Mabs Cross when they clashed in a Newmarket Group Three and has his chance in a very competitive heat.
