He split a couple of jumps winners when third to stablemate Ilmig at Navan and handled heavy ground when filling the same spot last month at the Curragh. A winner on successive days at Galway in the summer, Flying Scotsman was notably weak in the market and made mistakes when well beaten on his hurdling bow at Punchestown. He’ll need to have sharpened up a good bit for the experience to score here, but it’s not the strongest of maidens and he has to be considered. Toughari ran into a good one at Gowran last time and had run respectably on hurdling debut the time before. He’s won on testing ground on the Flat, and might handle conditions better than Curious Bride who impressed at this course when winning on the level on quick ground.%0A%0A
