FormscanBy Michael Graham - BADGERFORT switches to John Kiely from Philip Fenton and should be up to winning a maiden hurdle. The fact that he has been off-track since May is an obvious concern, but the level of form he brings to the table is superior to anything else on offer. He won an 18-runner bumper at Cork by a thumping 12 lengths back in April and was subsequently runner-up to the smart Martello Tower (who has gone on to be successful at Grade 3 level) in a Killarney maiden hurdle. With trip and ground to suit he is very much the one to beat. After three runs in point-to-points (including one victory) The Horsechesnut took plenty of plaudits with a second place to Fine Article in a maiden hurdle at this track yesterday. He hadn't been seen for a year which added extra merit to his performance. It would be unlikely that he would be out again today, but he is worth keeping an eye on for future maiden hurdles. Mells Theatre was pulled up and dismounted last-time out but comes into the reckoning on his previous two placed efforts.
