FormscanBy Gary Carson - Not a strong bumper and CAST NO SHADOW showed enough on his debut to make him a big player. He was bang in contention two furlongs out on his first start at Naas before weakening in the closing stages and is entitled to come on from that outing. The form has taken a few hits since with the easy winner disappointing subsequently. Given the strength of this race, however, he looks capable of going close. On Fiddlers Green has shown some ability in two good bumpers and dropping in grade now he could play a big part. He wasn't beaten that far behind the smart looking Livelovelaugh at Punchestown last time. It's hard to weigh up The Gatechecker, who won his sole point-to-point start. That was in an end of season maiden at Ballingarry and the form didn't look the strongest. Shadow Play finished last on his debut at Punchestown last month but that looked a very strong bumper and given improvement he could make an impression here. The two newcomers come from yards well capable of producing one so the market may prove the best guide to their chances.
