FormscanBy Gary Carson - Connections have reportedly been pleased with AT FISHERS CROSS since a below par effort on his return to action at Wetherby last month and if he is at his best he looks the one they have to beat here. He has come on for a run in the past so should be primed for this. He produced some very good efforts in top stayers races last season without winning and is due a success like this. It's interesting that Ruby Walsh stays loyal to Zaidpour who took this last year. He's very good at his best but has two ways of running. He returned with a smooth success at Navan before falling in the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse. The ground here looks like it's coming right for him as he appears to want plenty of dig. Lieutenant Colonel went on to claim the Hatton's Grace but this looks a much stronger Grade 1 contest now. Jetson, who chased him home, was a shock winner at the Punchestown festival when he had At Fishers Cross back in third. Tactics played a huge part in that victory and he will be doing well to confirm the form with the selection. Ruby Walsh rode Briar Hill to success in the Cheltenham bumper and in all his hurdles starts but prefers Zaidpour. The Shantou gelding was a very smart novice and we are perhaps yet to see how good he is. This is a big test. Monksland won this two years ago when putting Zaidpour in his place in good style. He hasn't run since, however, and looks best watched on his return.
