FormscanBy Gary Carson - The lightly raced FRANCIS OF ASSISI may be able to repeat last year's success in this race. He has won coming off a break before so the long absence may not be too big of a worry. He appreciates a bit of a cut, which he will get here, and he beat a decent sort in Big Break last term. That form has been advertised recently with that rival taking a Group 3 at Tipperary earlier in the month. Another Dermot Weld runner looks the threat in the shape of Afternoon Sunlight. She also returns from a break having last been seen when going down to Parish Hall in the Meld Stakes at the Curragh in July. She had previously been a game winner over a mile in the Guineas trial here. Connections felt then that ten might be her optimum trip so the drop back here to seven is a slight concern. Seanie has been in good form in handicaps and certainly deserves another shot at stakes level having risen to 103 for his success in Tipperary. He's good at this trip and could be a big player, being battled hardened. Flight Risk was all out to get off the mark over a mile at Cork last weekend but had shown plenty of promise over shorter trips previously and is capable of running well back in pattern company now. Harasiya had some high class two-year-old form but has failed to show that this season. She ran better when fifth in the Desmond Stakes here in August however and is capable of going well in this grade.
