FormscanBy Alan Magee - An extremely competitive event, which is not surprising with the huge level of prize-money on offer, and a strong English challenge with five raiders. Two of that quintet went head-to-head in a similar event at Goodwood where Almargo adopted his customary front-running role to beat Rene Mathis by two lengths. The latter now enjoys the best of the draw, and could reverse those placings on 8lb better terms. By far the least experienced in the field is Stay De Night and the Moyglare Stud Farm home-bred has plenty of scope for improvement following victories in a Limerick maiden and a Killarney rated race. Sretaw gained a much deserved win when landing the Cambridgeshire at the Curragh just under a fortnight ago but one of his victims on that occasion may now provide some each-way value. BURN THE BOATS recorded his biggest success to-date when landing the valuable Paddy Power Sprint on Irish Derby day last year and, having also scored twice over a mile, should be well-suited by this intermediate trip. He wasn’t beaten that far at the Curragh despite not enjoying the clearest of passages.
