FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Clonbanan Lad has the form in the book to make him hard to defeat in this grade. He's naught from seven over fences at this stage though and is clearly beatable. Unfortunately for BENEMEADE'S backers and supporters he slipped and got rid of Paul Carberry when favourite at Navan last week. On his previous outing, in what was something of a dawdling affair, Benemeade was a bit keen down at Listowel, on his second chase start, and that probably didn't help him in the latter stages. Going back in trip now could aid the selection and it might be helpful too if the ground doesn't deteriorate too much. Previous course winner Riverside City, and Shield, also in the J P McManus ownership, clearly have the ability to be big players on their respective chase debuts. Watch the market.
