FormscanBy Michael Graham - Fine Cut routed his rivals in a 47-70 handicap here last-time out, but he's been hit with a 16lb rise in the weights. He now has to shoulder 10-3 in a higher grade of race and looks opposable. ROYAL FOCUS is interesting as he impressed in a claimer in Down Royal last year on his sole start for Jim Bolger. It was a job for Kevin Manning to pull him up after that race as he was full of running over seven furlongs. He was subsequently claimed by Gerard O'Leary. A mark of 74 doesn't look too punishing and Ian Queally takes a further 10lb off. He has been gelded since that run. The one negative is that he hasn't run since September and may just need this outing, however he went well fresh in the north. A lot of these horses are making their seasonal bow and of those Caso Do Lago has shown plenty of speed in the past. An outsider with an each way squeak is Passified Lady who was fourth to Fine Cut, but has a big pull in the weights now.
