FormscanBy Gary Carson - The slight ease here should suit BEAU SATCHEL and he looks capable of going in again off this mark. It was good placing to make use of his lower all-weather rating last time and he still looks on a winnable mark back on the turf. He stayed on strongly over seven at Listowel off a mark just 2lb lower in a race where the winner slipped his field a bit. He had also run very well off the same rating when chasing home the progressive Hasanour over course and distance in August and would probably have been closer that day with a clear run. He is better with some juice in the ground and given those two most recent turf outings were on good to firm it's possible he has a touch more up his sleeve on this yielding surface. The bottom weight Heart In The Air is an interesting one having just been collared late on by a couple of well gambled horses at Navan during the week. She could go close again off the same mark. Yava has had a little break since three good runs in August. The last two were over seven here and he would have a shout running off the same mark as last time. Stronger Than Me finished second to the highly progressive Panama Hat at Naas when last seen but that was back in July while Maudlin Magdalen, the other joint top-weight, has also been absent since mid-July and looks to have enough weight. Spirited was well-backed when running on strongly in a Leopardstown maiden on her last outing and is interesting on her handicap debut while Rightway showed ability on her first two maiden runs and is also worth keeping an eye on, contesting her first handicap.

Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 80 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 80 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 80 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
