FormscanBy Alan Magee - Dermot Weld was denied a fourth successive win in this Group 3 event when Big Break went down by three quarters of a length to SRUTHAN 12 months ago and Paul Deegan’s charge may again come out on top with ground conditions going in his favour following recent rain. The Arakan gelding added another Group 3 to his CV when making a successful reappearance in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh, and has been very lightly raced since presumably due to the long dry spell and with this race in mind again. There is little to choose between the selection and Brendan Brackan on running behind the admirable Custom Cut at Leopardstown in August but perhaps Sruthan may just have a little more progression of the pair following a light campaign. Big Break, who was sent off at odds-on in this race last year, herself comes here off a very quiet season and has no worries about the ground having won a Group 3 in soft as a juvenile.
