FormscanBy Michael Graham - Specific Gravity never got involved in the Topaz Mile at Galway, but he has plenty of good form in his locker especially in Meydan. The yielding, soft in places ground though doesn't look ideal for him though. Spring Focus comes here in good form with a win and four places in his last five outings, however, those runs were all on ground that was good or good to firm. Jayed Jidan will tempt many as he takes a drop in class from contesting races like the Done Deal Handicap. His trainer Dermot Weld though said that he hated the soft ground and that he is a top of the ground horse after he won on soft at the Galway Festival last year. Ger Lyons is on record as saying he thought THIRD DIMENSION was his best two-year-old last year. He wasn't beaten far in the Done Deal Handicap or in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot and before those races he shed his maiden tag in Limerick on yielding to soft ground. Lyons said he hates soft ground though so hopefully it doesn't deteriorate any further and he can get away with it being yielding.

Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 95 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 95 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 95 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
