The score was 2-2 between the pair last term with the latest two meetings going the way of the younger horse. However the ground was soft on both occasions when the record-breaking ten-year-old came out on top, and the prevailing going could sway things in his favour. Willie Mullins’ charge overcame fears about a bruised foot in the lead up to his 19th Grade 1 win in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown and, while subsequent defeats have raised legitimate questions about his ability waning, he’s fancied to score again in the mud. Jezki certainly raised the bar with career best performances to land the big two Grade 1 events at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals, and connections report him in good heart after a summer break. Little King Robin is a credit to Colin Bowe, and she made it seven wins since May when landing a Grade 2 at Down Royal last time. However the ground has gone against her, and there is a doubt about her participation.
