FormscanBy Tom Weekes - This is very much a case of 'young versus old' with Champion Hurdler JEZKI on an undoubted upward curve and is preferred over Hurricane Fly, who comes here with questions to answer at this point of his career. JEZKI, a six year old, has improved throughout the season and while beaten by Hurricane Fly twice at Leopardstown prior to Cheltenham, the latter defeat can in some way be attributed to wrong hold-up tactics. A reproduction of his Cheltenham win would see him very difficult to beat. Hurricane Fly has been a marvel to watch and while he showed great resilience to win at Leopardstown in January, the form of that race (albeit JEZKI was behind) was in question prior to Cheltenham, due to the close proximity of veteran Captain Cee Bee at the finish. Hurricane Fly's Champion Hurdle effort was disappointing though and while he has often failed to show his best side in Britain, he finishing 'kick' was certainly lacking then. This looks a fascinating match and while JEZKI's stablemate Steps To Freedom is no mug on this sound surface and will help to bring extra pace to the race, he is very difficult to see winning, with his last jumps win coming in November 2011.
